Our approach to care is based on integrated trauma-informed psychotherapy, clinical case management (care coordination) and trauma-specific evidence-based treatments.  We connect with clients and their families out in the community where they live and work. We will come to you.

Upon entry, our Care Coordinators collaborate with clients to identify and address their immediate needs with a focus on safety and stabilization.  Upon completion of a clinical assessment, an individualized plan of care is developed. The individualized plan of care helps guide the provision of services and support. Our multidisciplinary support care team, which consists of CITRC's Executive Team, a Care Coordinator, Mental Health Therapist, Psychologist and Nurse Practitioner, will convene semi-monthly to assess client progress as they move through the program. This helps ensure clear communication and coordination of services across various systems of care. Every voice at the table matters. We are accountable to ourselves and more importantly to clients who entrust us with their care.

We are committed to exceeding the expectations of our clients with high quality confidential services and support. We are with you on the journey to heal and recover.  Let us provide you with the personalized care you deserve.

CITRC clients will have access to intensive evidence based psychotherapy that is centered on a trauma-informed model. CITRC clinicians will integrate therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Individual and Group Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to assist clients in decreasing the level of disturbance associated with their traumatic experiences. The primary goal is to reduce post-trauma anxiety and depression, to enhance and develop healthy coping skill and increase awareness of risk factors associated with re-traumatization.

Case management services, which we refer to as care coordination, are provided in a culturally responsive, client centered manner. Our priority is to ensure that services are coordinated and implemented based on the client's most pressing needs.  After completing a comprehensive assessment with our clients, we incorporate an active engagement strategy to directly link clients to community resources and support.  We recognize that clients who are dealing with the aftermath of acute trauma require more than a traditional referral.  CITRC care coordination services are delivered utilizing holistic therapeutic interventions that are integrated into the client's individualized treatment plan. Through this integrated team approach to care, services are better coordinated, thus allowing us to treat the whole person as they recover and heal.

One of our core principals is to create an organizational culture that is healthy, compassionate and focused on the mental,  emotional, and physical well-being of our team members.  Constant exposure to the often horrific experiences of survivors of trauma can increase the risk of vicarious trauma for a team member.  It can negatively affect productivity and diminish our effectiveness in providing high quality services for our clients.  Our internal organizational focus is as important as our external delivery of services. We recognize and celebrate the healing community from within...with our staff as well as our community partners and providers who are aligned with us in this work.

CITRC incorporates self-care and daily wellness time for all staff that is strongly encouraged and included as part of the work day.  CITRC staff and clients have direct access to an on-site wellness center that allows for restorative periods throughout the day as needed.
